After thousands of auditions and 32 episodes, The X Factor 2016 has finally found their newest winner in 23 year old Matt Terry. He beat Saara Aalto to take the title.

Matt Terry, originally from Bromley, first auditioned for The X Factor with ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E King and earned himself four yes’ from the judging panel.

Matt’s debut single is ‘When Christmas Comes Around’, an Ed Sheeran original written especially for the X Factor winner, and is due to be released at midnight.

As announced earlier on the show, all the company’s profits from Matt’s single will go to two deserving charities: Shooting Star Chase and Together For Short Lives.

Matt will now continue a long loved X Factor tradition and battle for Christmas number one with ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ and will join the other finalists on The X Factor Live Tour 2017.
